After his seemingly miraculous ride from 25th place on the grid to third in Race Two at Estoril, Alcoba has now proven the true abilities of both himself and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. It was a first WorldSSP podium for Alcoba and his machine, which is a new homologation model for 2025.
Being a Spanish rider and having ridden at Jerez multiple times in his recent Moto3 and Moto2 career, Jeremy cannot wait to get back into competitive action after he and his team found a great machine set-up for both Estoril races.
Jeremy is currently ninth in the championship fight, with a maximum possible 50 points for any rider who wins both Jerez races. The rider in front of Jeremy in the post-Estoril table is ten points ahead and the rider two places above him is 19 points ahead.
After Superpole Qualifying on Friday 17 October, the 17-lap Race One on Saturday gets underway at the 4.423km long Jerez circuit at 15.15 local time, with Race Two completing the Portuguese WorldSSP action - and the entire season - on Sunday 19 October.
Jeremy Alcoba stated: “The final weekend and final races of the season. I haven’t even had time to celebrate the Estoril podium as we were straight on to Jerez, but I’m very pleased and motivated and can’t wait to get back on my ZX-6R 636 and work with my team. I see last week’s podium as a starting point, not an end point. I like the Jerez track well enough but it’s not one of my favourites. I know it well anyway, and so I’ll be aiming to run up front and fight for the podium, or perhaps something more.”
