Motorland is a long circuit by modern WorldSBK standards, measuring 5.077km in total. It features some real undulations, wide chicanes and a simply vast back straight, ended by a very long last left hander that propels the riders onto the start/finish straight.
Alex has secured four podium places at Motorland in the past. He has already taken 11 podiums this season, including two race wins at Phillip Island during the opening round.
Axel has not raced at Motorland in Kawasaki colours but like Lowes he has tested there on his Ninja ZX-10RR official machine, after the Magny Cours round in mid-September.
Entering Motorland Alex is fourth overall, with 255 points. Axel is 15th with 80 points.
After the completion of the Aragon round there will be a break in race action of just one weekend before two consecutive season-ending rounds - at Estoril in Portugal and Jerez in Spain - round out what has been an exciting 12-round season.
Alex Lowes, stated: “I am quite confident at Aragon, except for the last sector with its long straights. I think the reality is that that will not be easy for us. I need to understand what we can achieve there. In Aragon there are places to pass, but you need to be with them to make a pass. From T1 to T11 there is no reason why our bike shouldn’t be really strong, so I have to use these points. Aragon it is a track that I really enjoy and it’s a great track. They have resurfaced it, so it is not going to be easy for tyres. I need to be focused from Friday, get the most out of the weekend, do the best I can and try to fight with some other guys for the podium.”
Axel Bassani, stated: “Soon after we have finished at Cremona the next round is in Motorland Aragon and we tested there two weeks ago. The feeling was good with the bike at Motorland and I hope to find similar conditions to the ones we had when we tested there. I think we could have some good races in Aragon but it is important to be able to have a strong Superpole Qualifying session. If we can do that then our overall pace is quite good. If we have that good Superpole then I think we can enjoy it and have a positive race.”
Tito Rabat (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) is currently ranked 20th overall as he heads into another home round in 2024. His recent strong top ten performances at the Cremona round have enhanced his and his team’s confidence before he heads to a very different kind of track layout.
