As the official Ninja ZX-10RR rider in the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team once again, Gerloff has already posted a top six race finish this season, during the opening round at Phillip Island in Australia. He followed that up with a seventh place in one race at Portimao last time out.
After six individual races so far, Gerloff is 12th overall in the championship rankings, and only three points from the rider in tenth place.
Assen has been a favourite WorldSBK venue almost since the beginning of the championship, with the first ‘Dutch’ round held at a short version of the Circuit van Drenthe in 1992. As a result, Assen has already hosted 71 individual WorldSBK races, with three more soon to add to that total if the forthcoming weekend runs to schedule.
For the WorldSBK riders, there will be two Free Practice sessions on Friday 17 April, then one more short practice session before Tissot-Superpole Qualifying and a 21-lap Race One get underway on Saturday. Sunday 19 April will host the now traditional ten-lap Tissot-Superpole ‘sprint’ race and finally another 21-lap full race to conclude the weekend’s track action.
After Assen, Round Four of the WorldSBK season will take place at what was an all-new venue in 2025, the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, between 1-3 May.
Garrett Gerloff stated: “I’m confident that we’ll be able to further improve our bike during this Assen round, and that’s why my goal is to fight in the top five or six, just as we did at Portimao. We need to continue on this path and work hard to score important results, for our team and for Kawasaki.”
