Classic Venue Next Up For Kawasaki WorldSSP Team

Kawasaki WorldSSP Team riders Jeremy Alcoba and Dominique Aegerter will compete at the legendary TT Circuit Assen between 17-19 April, as the FIM Supersport World Championship gets ready to move on to the third race weekend of a 12-round season.

After four individual races have been completed to date, at Phillip Island and Portimao, Alcoba sits in overall ninth place on his Ninja ZX-6R 636 machine. His new team-mate for 2026, double WorldSSP champion Dominique Aegerter, is looking to Assen for a turnaround in his early season fortunes. He has scored championship points in one race so far, and is ranked 22nd overall.

With both riders and the entire Kawasaki WorldSSP team having had some time to make clear and positive preparations for the annual competitive pilgrimage to what has been described as the ‘Cathedral’ of motorcycle racing, everyone is out to ensure that Jeremy and Dominique have their best results of the year so far.

Free Practice and Superpole Qualifying will start the Assen weekend on Friday 17 April, with Race One taking place on Saturday and Race Two on Sunday. Each race is scheduled for 18 laps of the 4.542km long circuit, which features several high-speed changes of direction as well as a much tighter early sector.

Jeremy Alcoba, stated: “I’m really pumped for this Assen round and want to use it to fight with the best bikes and best riders. It’s a track I like and where I got pole position while racing in Moto3. Last year we struggled a bit here, but we’ve worked hard over the first races to make our bike set-up competitive and so I’m confident I can score good results this weekend. We need to see what the weather’s like, but we’re ready for anything.”

Dominique Aegerter, stated: “The Assen track is one of my favourites and I’ve achieved strong results here in the past. The weather is often variable and might be cold, but we’re ready for any conditions. I’ve trained hard since Portimao, both with the MX bike and with a Ninja ZX-6R 636 street bike. Up to now, we’ve not been able to fight for the positions we want, and to do so at Assen we’ll need to find a good setup already on Friday, in order to run a good qualifying and start the race from the front. I’m confident we can do it.”
