Alcoba Takes Points In Second Race At Most

In the final race of the FIM Supersport World Championship race weekend at Autodrom Most Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) secured more points for 14th place.

On his Ninja ZX-6R 636 machine Jeremy felt he had the potential to advance through the field from his starting position of 15th in the second 19-lap WorldSSP race of the weekend. He moved up to 12th at one early stage, but after a few laps he started to experience a drop in grip.

He was pipped on the line on the very last lap and lost 13th place by literally one thousandths of a second.

Conditions were cool but dry at the 4.212km long Autodrom Most on Sunday 18 May, which formed the final day of the fifth WorldSSP round.

After collecting six points for tenth place in Race One and taking two more points in Race Two, Alcoba sits in seventh position in the championship ranking, with seven more rounds of the season to come.

After Most, the sixth round of the WorldSSP season takes place at the Misano World Circuit ‘Marco Simoncelli’, in Italy, between 13-15 June. This round will be the second home event of the season for Jeremy’s Italian-based Kawasaki WorldSSP Team.

Jeremy Alcoba stated: “The second race of the weekend was not as we expected because, looking back at yesterday and how we ended the first race, the idea was to continue in the same way. Today I started really well and didn’t lose any positions because I have improved my starts. I was so happy for that and then I tried to push at the beginning so that I could be in the first group. In the first six or seven laps everything was really close and I saw a potential to go in front. Then the tyre dropped a lot and I started to go slowly. At the end of the race it was hard to keep a good pace as I struggled a lot. We need to find a solution for the next race. We will see if we can make another step in the next round.”
