Alcoba Heads Home For Round Ten

FIM Supersport World Championship rider Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) will soon race at his home venue of Motorland Aragon when he takes part in the tenth round of his rookie season. Race weekend takes place between 26-28 September.

As a first-year rider in the series this year, Jeremy has sometimes faced circuits that are new to him and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 when he took part in the opening free practice sessions each Friday. This coming weekend will provide a different scenario for Alcoba to experience in FP1.

After a positive test at Motorland in late August, Jeremy and his crew have been able to make initial preparations for the challenge of racing at the longest circuit on the current WorldSSP calendar. Jeremy has intimate knowledge of the Motorland layout, as he has extensive experience of it from his years racing in both Moto3 and Moto2 championships, and Spanish national races.

Jeremy has been able to fight inside the leading group at times this year, and earlier this month he secured his single best result of fourth place in Race Two at Magny Cours. He sets out at Motorland to put in a strong Superpole qualifying session on Friday 26 September, which will allow him to launch from the startline with the leading riders.

Race One, over 15 laps of the 5.077km long circuit, gets underway on Saturday 27 September, followed by Race Two on Sunday. Each WorldSSP contest is scheduled to get underway at 12.35 local time in Spain.

Jeremy Alcoba stated: “Aragon is my home round in that it’s the track closest to where I live. It will be great to have my fans and also my family here with me. There is added motivation to do well in the races, using what we learned during testing just a few weeks ago at this same track. I know the layout well, of course, and think I have a good opportunity to get the podium finish that has eluded me until now.”
