Dominique and Jeremy have already tested their Ninja ZX-6R 636 machines at the 3.768km-long Cremona Circuit this summer, meaning the team can be as prepared as it can be for the tenth round of the WorldSSP championship.
In the current WorldSSP championship table, after the ninth round in France was completed in early September, Jeremy is eighth overall, with 138 points, while Aegerter is 19th, on 38 points.
The best single result of the year for Jeremy so far is a third place, which he earned in the opening race at Donington Park in July. A top six finish at Assen in April is the best ride of the year so far for Aegerter.
The Cremona circuit is the shortest on the calendar, and one of the most intense, with several tight sections forming a stadium section, before the back straight returns the competitors to a uniquely banked final chicane, which leads onto the home straight.
Home is the operative word for the Puccetti Racing-operated Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, as the team’s base is only 60km from the Cremona Circuit.
After Superpole Qualifying on Friday, 25 September, there will be the first of two 20-lap WorldSSP races on Saturday, and a second on Sunday. Both races will get underway at a scheduled 14.00 local time in Italy.
After Cremona, the season will be completed by back-to-back rounds; the first at Estoril between 9-11 October and the final one at Jerez, between 16-18 October.
Jeremy Alcoba, stated: “I’m ready and highly motivated to tackle this tenth WorldSSP round. We carried out some testing at this track and, although I think we will find different temperatures this weekend, our lap times were very encouraging, so I’m optimistic about what is our team’s home round. I will do everything I can to give our sponsors and our fans, who will be coming to Cremona, something to celebrate.”
Dominique Aegerter, stated: “We are now entering the final stages of the championship and I’m approaching this tenth round with maximum determination. I wasn’t feeling well last week, with a fever and a cold, but I expect to recover in time for the practice sessions and races at our team’s home round. We recently carried out some testing at Cremona and collected a lot of data that will be useful to us this weekend. The track is short and very particular, but I like it, and I hope to find the best setup for my bike straight away so that we can have some good races in front of our home fans.”
